District 22W Lions
The mission of Lions worldwide is local community volunteerism, encouraging peace, and promoting international understanding. The simple motto is We Serve.
Lions have been active in Maryland for the past 100 years. Spanning the five western counties of Maryland (Carroll, Frederick, Washington, Allegany and Garrett), the first club in the District was founded May 17, 1922. District 22 W is now comprised of 53 clubs and over 1600 members.
Lions are inclusive, where diversity is valued and encouraged, including gender, race, and religion. At the same time, Lions promote and require adherence by its members to the highest ethical standards.
Are you a Lion? Should you Be?
You'll join a local group of service-minded men and women who volunteer to support your community every day. You'll also become a member of Lions Club International-a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need. Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better. That's because we help where help is needed - in our own communities and around the world - with unmatched integrity and energy. Where there's a NEED, there's a LION.
