Third VDG Challenge: Tiny Home Relief Project (THRP)

Need

After hurricane Helene devastated Pensacola, North Carolina, with a population of only 500; many lost their homes, work, and more. The Tiny Home Relief Project (THRP) founded in Oakland, MD, has provided tiny homes like the one to the left to residents to live in instead of being in tents in the bitter cold and rain.

This particular area is not FEMA accessible for food storage trailers, so a need arose for a tiny-home pantry to store food supplies for the residents. One pantry is needed for perishable food items, and another is needed for refrigerated goods.

Cost

The estimated cost for both pantries is $9,700, which includes fuel and incidental travel expenses for transporting the pantries from Oakland, Maryland.  This includes funding the materials and transportation for the food pantry, which will serve as an important resource for the community

Action Item

Clubs and individuals can donate with checks payable to the District 22W Foundation including "THRP" on the memo line. Any amount will help the community!
